UROHI COMMUNITY APPEALS TO THE GOVT

Image of Prince Kelly Udebhulu (Reporter)

The Urohi community in Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State has appealed to Governor Adams Oshiomhole for fair representation and infrastructural renewal in the area.
The community made the appeal at a press conference organised by Urohi Leadership Council under the leadership of Mr Akomen Adaghe, a lawyer, in Benin City.

The council alleged that Urohi citizens were marginalised from the  state political structure in particular and the country in general, suggesting that if the trend is not checked, the capacity for a rapid political and infrastructural development in the kingdom will be slow.

The council’s position, which is to urge “His Excellency, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomonle to ensure that an Urohi citizen is appointed among his aides, member of board of state establishment and parastatals for a fair representation in our nascent democracy”.

Stressing that the community turned out massively to ensure Oshiomhole’s victory at the polls, Adaghe said, “the good people of Urohi rely on His Excellence for the much needed infrastructural development in the Kingdom.  The Edo State Small and Medium Scale Enterprises Programme should focus on the comparative advantage of Urohi to raw materials for production, by establishing SME plants in the kingdom.”

“The over 20,000 inhabitants of Urohi have no access to clean and potable water, apart from the one sited in Eguare which is an unimaginable distance to more than 70 per cent of the citizens;  the governor should be mindful of the fact that to whom much is given, much is expected,” Adaghe said.

The council further called for the extension of the “Red Roof” project syndicated by the United Nations, UNICEF Assisted Projects, European Union Assisted Projects, UNESCO, World Bank, National Capital Development Fund assisted projects, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises support programmes and other international non-governmental agencies meant for rural areas to be extended to Urohi community.

“So much has been said of the teeming rural communities in Nigeria today that have benefited immensely from international agencies and donors, but Urohi Kingdom has suffered so much neglect. Urohi is the food basket of Esan West and contributes massively to the local, state and national gross domestic product.  Urohi ranks among the fifth highest producers of pineapple, timber, yam and cassava in Nigeria, yet not one processing plant is available,” stressed Adaghe.

The council expressed its gratitude to His Royal Highness Zaki Aidenojie I, the Onogie of Urohi, Hon. Patrick Ikhariale, Hon. Godsent Akhabue and other notable personalities in the community for their achievements so far, which include the connection of Urohi to the national grid, provision of potable water in Eguare Urohi, and the ongoing construction work on the Niger Delta Development COmmission Road Project which they required a speedy conclusion.

The council called on the people of Urohi to support their traditional institution “with all zeal and the government of the day so that the people of Urohi can demand for their fair rights on both human and capital development.”

ESAN PEOPLE, CELEBRATING ESAN PAGEANT WITH PHINA. DEC., 2012.

                             By Prince Kelly Udebhulu.

My People, We have so many people in the entertainment industries, efforts should be cornered to see attraction centers and events organize in Esan Land which will attract visitors to see to the hospitality of Esan People. These tasks cannot be handled by the few present front runners in the business today. Proudly to tell you this day that Lady MRS PHINA OWOBU- AKHIMIEN ( CEO- Virginhood, VirginHood Magazine and presenter on DSTV, with reality show: GETTING REAL WITH PHINA), holds Miss Esan Cultural Beauty Pageant, this Month of December, 2012. Details on the poster.

Come this D day, the crowd will surge with energy and vivid animation. There will be an electrified participatorial charm everywhere. Attendants will have infectious spirited aura of being present at a historical event. All will be gripped with a raucous partisan feverishness as the beautiful Esan young, charming and modelling contestants appear. What a Great Event !

Contestants! Contestants! Contestants!

In the real world of commercial glamour modelling, it begins with your personality. There are many elements that must come together to produce a great model and photograph, but the most critical is strong character development. Understanding that glamour modelling is closely linked to acting. As a model, you are acting out scenes through a character you may have given yourself. Your character must inspire not only attention, but devotion, seduction and stimulate psychological arousal. Real Contestant knows all these, and she gives it all out freely. initially, most people will look at the obvious, but it is how you communicate and seduce with your eyes that will get the initial impact. The look has to be inviting, sensual yet sexy and bold, as you are essentially the one with the pressure of winning the audience. Your winning is a broad way to the larger World. Be the best now.

Proud to be part of this great event.

Nigerian Navy knows How To Play With People’s Lives

HARD FACT:

Nigerian Navy knows how to play with people’s lives. It’s in d system. when I wrote Gen Azazi as the NSA in 2009 as a feedback recon specialist with Ford Foundation and Amnesty International “trust-gate” assignments; and reported the way Navy neglected, tortured and endangered my life coupled with non compliance of the Navy chief to NASS resolution, Gen. Azazi never replied me. I still have FedEx receipt I used to send it as proof of service, d security risk report against d Nigerian Navy was swept under d carpet. Now Navy has killed Gen. Azazi n other innocent Nigerians.

When I was in Eastern Naval command HQ as a ford foundation attaché on Ariel surveillance, Navy war ship NNS Damisa and NNS Hadeija will go missing on high sea for days without communication when on patrol of
territorial waters around Bakassi n Cameroun because of lack of maintenance n negligence.

When I was on board P230 patrolling Ebugu, Agbani barge and FOB Ibaka, I had to provide my own live jacket and we kept running on single engine and no generator till I left P230 because the second one has been long out of service.

This is the second Navy chopper accident. A “rating – Chopper Reviler” was left to die at NNH Ojo in 1999 when i was deployed to witness the re-con opt of the Naval sipta as a Cadet of the NDA because the generator was without fuel and no light to give him proper medical attention.

Another rating AB Anyachioke also died at NNH Ojo because he couldn't afford to pay for his malaria medication and was abandoned to die. NNS Agu crashed into a flyover in Lagos because of negligence and lack of maintenance.

Two whole bunkering vessels MT African Pride and MT Jimoh got missing under Navy care at NNS Becroft jetty Apapa. The report of the first crashed chopper was never seen or heard. Nigerian Navy’s ability for search and rescue is questionable.

God forbid if there is an emergency, Navy can't even do much. Corruption and abuse of office has made it impossible for Nigerian Navy to own even second hand submarine. Nigerian Navy Flag ship NNS Aradu was procured by Shagari regime. Its the highest and most efficient ship in the Naval fleet and the only navy ship that has its own chopper.

The ill fated chopper must have been over used without adequate maintenance and parts replacement as stipulated by manufacturers. Gen. Azazi was in a position for years as NSA to correct many wrong things in the Navy and it would have saved his life and others.

MY PERSONAL TESTIMONY AND HOW GOD OF POSSIBILITY WILL BRING A TURN AROUND INTO YOUR LIFE TODAY.

In 1956, while living with my uncle, we had our fair share of poverty. He was poor but I was poorer. We mutually shared whatever we had. One day, we were very hungry and there was no food in sight. Then all of a sudden a young girl approached us and said her sister asked her to give us the food she was

carrying -pounded yam with vegetable soup and chicken.

My uncle told her he did not know her sister and asked if she was sure we were the right people the food was meant for. She replied in the affirmative, so we received the gift and my uncle told her he will be expecting more gifts from her sister like this one she brought. Immediately the girl left, we pounced on the food.

As soon as we were done eating the food, the girl resurfaced and said it was all a mistake that the food was not for us. Who will give a hungry lion a goat and expect to get it back? …

NOTE: The mercy of God can corner what was meant for somebody else for the recipient of His mercy.
This season, the mercy of God will bring you blessings and opportunities including the ones not initially meant for you. By an unplanned move or deed, mercy will connect you to your destiny. Mercy turns mistakes into appointments. When mercy is involved, there are no mistakes!

Abaribe: Constitutional Amendment Won’t Solve Nigeria’s Problems

Amending the constitution is not the solution to the developmental challenges:

Amending the constitution is not the solution to the developmental challenges facing the country, Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe has declared.

In a lecture he delivered at the weekend during the law week of the Abuja Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), the senator argued that what was required was for all Nigerians to subject themselves to rule of law. According to him, no amount of amendments can stop sectional agitation in the country.

In the thought provoking lecture, Abaribe advised Nigerians to look back at history and see if amendments to constitution had really solved the country’s developmental challenges.

He said: “Prolific amendments of the constitution cannot by sheer prolixity, offer the needed civilised culture. “It cannot guarantee national security any more than it can deepen confidence in government and democratic institutions.” In his view, existing provisions of the constitution were adequate to drive and contain the required democratic culture.

He said: “Nigerians should begin to grow along the line of developing extra legal restraints in the exercise of their ambitions either as individuals or as a community.

“There is no level of amendment that can bring a constitution to exhaustively provide for every conceivable human circumstance.” He said that a constitution should be amended only in extreme cases of need.

“For me such need will only arise when there is no other legal regime that can be relied upon to answer to that need,” he added. He further argued that there were provisions in the constitution which allowed laws to be made to address any national issues not covered by the constitution.

While stressing that there would be no need to amend the constitution if everyone was willing to do the right thing, Abaribe said: “A responsible state administration would not wait for a constitutional amendment to allow a local government run its finances as allocated to it by the Federal Government.”
