General Buahari Presidency will be very difficult to sell in Edo State.

Late Prof Alli

By Edo Politics

General Buahari Presidency will be very difficult to sell in Edo State. To accept Buhari Presdency is to accept that late Prof. Ambrose Alli is a criminal, that is a difficult peel for us Edo to swallow.

Prof. Ambrose Alli, was the former governor of the Old Bendel State, who was wrongfully jailed by Gen. Buhari for corruption. Today's evidence shows Alli was an innocent man. He developed High blood pressure while in jail and later died at a young age of 60yrs.

Gen. Buahari must go to the grave of Prof. Alli and ask for his forgiveness in public glare if he wants any consideration in Edo/Delta.

May Prof. Alli soul continue to rest in peace.

  • Imobioh Louis Ekata If those who rigged against Professor Alli and robbed him of his political victory are working freely as Princes today in Edo State, what are indeed the sins of General Buhari? GMB wanted to sanitise the country and bring in accountability and probity into Governance. Truth be told Professor Alli was betrayed by his people, who bear force witnesses against him, those he helped. Baba Kekere of Lagos Alhaji Lateef Jakande and Chief Ajasin were not jailed because there were no evidence against them buy the Late Cicero of Esa Oke, Chief Bola Ige and the indefatigable Ayekoto, Chief Bisi Onabanjo were not Lucky together with Professor Ambrose Alli. If Buhari's war against corruption was sustained till today, Nigeria would have been a better place and this looting and plundering of the Nation's account by politicians would have long ceased.

  • Omorogieva Edo Wimpey @ Ekata, go and check your records well again about the man Buhari.
  • Reggie Akpata If even there was evidence that UPN was enjoying state funding where was the trial? Are we to believe that not a single kobo from any of the Northern states went into - GMB's sworn enemies - NPN's coffers? I pray he wins so some of you will understand the term "selective justice"; ask Ojukwu, ask Fela! Left in office, by now this fellow would have been a cross between Mobutu and Mugabe with a "dash" of Master Sargent Doe!

  • Imobioh Louis Ekata Those who are scared of relocating to Dubai, Argentina and other safe heavens for treasury looters are the ones scared of GMB. GMB said when he comes into power he is going to ask questions and hold people accountable why Nigeria is not working. GMB had a clean record when he served PTF.

  • Imobioh Louis Ekata Obinna Okoro wrote "Managing public funds is serious business. General Muhammadu Buhari was fond of telling contractors on visit to sites: “If you perform well, you get a handshake. If you perform badly, you get a handcuff”. This is the mantra we need at this historical juncture. The man that incarnates this mantra out of the available presidential candidates is General Muhammadu Buhari.

There is also a lesson to be learnt from the day Buhari left PTF. Obasanjo, on assumption of office, announced the setting up of the interim management committee led by Mallam Haroun Adamu to wind down PTF. The following day, Buhari addressed a press conference and invited the new management to immediately take over. He told Nigerians that everything the new management needed were in the records to which they would have unhindered access. He bid his staff farewell, descended the stairs, literally jumped into his four wheel drive that took him home to Daura. He never stepped into that premises again to this day. And he never fled the country to escape the EFCC."

  • Reggie Akpata @Imobioh, nice commentary, only commentary is that PTF was an illegal body as was the government he served and all his "honesty" cannot refute those realities. My Uncle was the secretary, till today I don't know where their offices are; little old me oh!

  • Asogun Irabor Pedro @Ogieva, there was no truth in the accosations,Alli was a saint compared to his contemporaries who due to ethnic and religious considerations were let off the hook. If not for Alli many prominet edolites would'nt have had the benefit of formal eu
  • Monday Ehiabhi Ureto There a parable that says,if a tree does not has a hole, ants can not enter. I believe that some group of people in the then deformed Bendel state called for the arest of Alli. Becouse they were an antagonist.
